Star Wars the Force Awakens

The next installment of the Star Wars franchise titled The Force Awakens will be out at the end of 2015. This movie will be directed by J.J Abrams
The Force Awakens is produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Lucas film and Abrams' Bad Robot Productions , and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Second-unit filming began in April 2014 in Abu Dhabi and Iceland, with principal photography taking place between May and November 2014 in Abu Dhabi, Ireland and Pinewood Studios in England.

I am looking forward to this next chapter of the series to be brought out to us. As a Star Wars and Sci Fi Fan I am very happy that we have this next trilogy to look forward to. I have created a few sculptures based on the Star Wars franchise.

This print has Darth Vader , Darth Maul, General Grievious, Boba Fett, and a Storm trooper . I was inspired by the movie franchise to make my version of the characters in wire. I challenged myself to create the best version of these characters that I could. That lead me to the image you see above. Star Wars is a movie franchise that has captivated the imagination of generations and it will go on to inspire millions more people.

Once the new movies comes out I fully expect to have
many more sculptures to create. I will be there with all of the other fans waiting for the first show to open at the theaters.

Spok is gone! Leonard Nimoy Passes away

1931-2015

I first image I had of the TV show Star Trek was Spok and Captain Kirk talking. I thought to myself that they were a very interesting mix. The out of control play it by your gut feeling Kirk and the Logical analytical Spok. That contrast made the show interesting to me. The science fiction aspect of the show kept me coming back for more and over the years I have come to really appreciate the things that they did together.

One of my favorite episodes was when spoke was in a rage after his mating ritual had started. In this episode you saw Spok displaying his super human strength in ways that were never shown in previous episodes.

The episode went on to have Captain Kirk fighting Mr. Spok to save him in the end. It was one of the more extreme episodes and also one of the most entertaining to me. This was one of the first times we saw the battle techniques of the Vulcan people on TV and it was awesome!

Leonard Simon Nimoy  March 26, 1931 – February 27, 2015) was an American actor, film director, poet, singer and photographer. Nimoy was known for his role as Spock in the original Star Trek series (1966–69), and in multiple film, television and video game sequels.
Nimoy was born to Jewish immigrant parents in BostonMassachusetts. He began his career in his early twenties, teaching acting classes in Hollywood and making minor film and television appearances through the 1950s, as well as playing the title role in Kid Monk Baroni. Foreshadowing his fame as a semi-alien, he played Narab, one of three Martian invaders in the 1952 movie serial Zombies of the Stratosphere. In 1953, he served in the United States Army.
In 1965, he made his first appearance in the rejected Star Trek pilot The Cage, and went on to play the character of Mr. Spock until 1969, followed by eight feature films and guest slots in the various spin-off series. The character has had a significant cultural impact and garnered Nimoy three Emmy Award nominations; TV Guide named Spock one of the 50 greatest TV characters.[3][4] After the original Star Trek series, Nimoy starred in Mission: Impossible for two seasons, hosted the documentary series In Search of..., and narrated Civilization IV, as well as making several well-received stage appearances. More recently, he also had a recurring role in the science fiction series Fringe.
Nimoy's fame as Spock was such that both of his autobiographies, I Am Not Spock (1975) and I Am Spock (1995), were written from the viewpoint of sharing his existence with the character.

Star Trek and Mr. Spok have influenced my artwork in a very personal way. I have loved science fiction and all things Star Trek since I was a young child. I will continue to create wire sculptures because it is a part of me and I love it.
This wire sculpture Titled Zang was inspired from my love of Star Trek. I imagined that this character was one of the races of Aliens found by the crew during one of their voyages. This would be a prime example of the wonders of Mr. Spok because he would be the one to devise a way to either communicate with the new race or he would be key in defeating them.
We will miss you Lenard Nemoy

The New Dead Pool Movie is coming

Deadpool movie
For those of you who didn't know the Dead Pool movie is now becoming reality.
The film will be produced by 20th Century Fox.
Ryan Reynolds has
been cast as the lead in the role ( Thank you very much) We can look for the movie to be released Feb 2016. I can't wait to check it out.
Deadpool (Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional character, a mercenary and anti-hero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer and artist Rob Liefeld and scripted by Fabian Nicieza, Deadpool first appeared in New Mutants #98 (Feb. 1991).

A disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary, Deadpool originally appeared as a villain in an issue of New Mutants, and later in issues of X-Force. The character has since starred in several ongoing series, and shares titles with other characters such as Cable. Also known as the "Merc with a Mouth," Deadpool is famous for his talkative nature and his tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to humorous effect.( from my friends at wikipedia).

I have been a fan of all of the Marvel Characters since I was a kid and I have taken it upon my self as an artist to recreate every character in wire.

As you can see in the image above I keep myself busy with my creations. I always try to have many creations ready at any time.

New Marvel Avengers movie

New Marvel Avengers movie sculptures

The new Marvel Avengers movie will be out soon and I have created a few new wire sculptures just for the occasion
.
you will see Thor, Captain America, the Hulk, and Iron Man in this blog.
Because the movie was so popular I had to create a version of all of the characters for myself.
the next movie due to come out in May 2015 should be great.
I thought it would be great to see Ultron in film. Marvel studios really have their act together and they are really making great strides in dominating the market.
I will continue to create sculptures based on all of the characters just because I love everything associated with Marvel.
You can see some of my latest wire sculptures at .www.twistedwire.us and if you would like me to create one for you send me a request and I will get to work

Samurai Warrior Sculpture
This sculpture was created just for fun. I decided that I wanted to recreate a Samurai Warrior that I sold a few years ago. The end result was this sculpture.
I actually started this sculpture in my car. Everyday I would drive to work and sit in the car in the parking lot and work on it. I found that it was very relaxing and I was able to let my mind flow with the colors and the different styles of armor they had in those days.

The side view shows the shield I gave this sculpture. You can see a pen in the picture and that gives you an idea on how big they are.

This is the back view of this sculpture I gave him a sword on his back as well as a side sword. I had a really good time creating this sculpture. I have been making these types of sculpture for many years and they still bring me great joy. I hope you can appreciate the craftsmanship and the detail that was put into this sculpture.

The Road Warrior sculpture

This is one of my newest sculptures created for the sole purpose of my enjoyment. I wanted to create a sculpture in the likeness of the crazy Villan in Mad Max and also in the likeness of the charachter in the video game Borderlands.
The color concept is derived from the need to create a color contrast. I used a darker colored wire for the body and I used orange and white for the highlights in the armor. This charachter had to have a mohawk because both charachters had them in the movie and in the game. The wepons carried by the charachter are from my vivid imagination. I gave him a Greese gun in his right hand that has the butt stock extended for greater support. He also has an asault riffel in his left hand equipt with a scope. On his left side is a side hand gun for thoes upclose and personal enguagements. Lastly I gave him a sword because you can't be a road warrior and not have a sword. I wanted to make the face guard something different so I went with a completly different design. I loved creating this sculpture because I just let go and opened my mind and let the creativity just flow. I get alot of comments about how I put so many weapons on the sculptures. It's just my personality I identify with the warrior mind set and that is what gets me going. So If you are a person who can't appreciate the idea of a warrior defending his family and home then you may never get this type of art but if you do then you will enjoy many of my works.

Deacon Lords is on the move

This blog is all about Deacon Lords. We have been very busy with craft shows all over northern Va. This year we have put more sculptures out in circulation than ever before! Our next venture will be in
Art A La Carte an artist cooperative
The gallery is located in Occoquan, VA.
I will have many of my newest works displayed there. I hope you will have an opportunity to come out and visit the gallery and see some incredible art work.

The following image I have a picture of an Futuristic Army Ranger with full battle armor and heads up display.

The next sculpture was one that was inspired by the thought of my fellow Marines. After I watched the movie aliens and I got a glimpse of the Space Marines, I had to make my version of them. This sculpture captures all of the bravado and toughness of the Marines. I imagined a warrior that had enough weapons to be his own field support. He has shoulder mounted howitzers, two arm mounted machine guns, also on his leg is a rocket system to give him a real powerful punch on the battlefield.

These are just a few of my many creations. I am constantly in the laboratory creating new sculptures and pushing the envelope.
Please visit my website www.deaconlords.com to view more of my creations.
