The Road Warrior sculpture

This is one of my newest sculptures created for the sole purpose of my enjoyment. I wanted to create a sculpture in the likeness of the crazy Villan in Mad Max and also in the likeness of the charachter in the video game Borderlands.

The color concept is derived from the need to create a color contrast. I used a darker colored wire for the body and I used orange and white for the highlights in the armor. This charachter had to have a mohawk because both charachters had them in the movie and in the game. The wepons carried by the charachter are from my vivid imagination. I gave him a Greese gun in his right hand that has the butt stock extended for greater support. He also has an asault riffel in his left hand equipt with a scope. On his left side is a side hand gun for thoes upclose and personal enguagements. Lastly I gave him a sword because you can't be a road warrior and not have a sword. I wanted to make the face guard something different so I went with a completly different design. I loved creating this sculpture because I just let go and opened my mind and let the creativity just flow. I get alot of comments about how I put so many weapons on the sculptures. It's just my personality I identify with the warrior mind set and that is what gets me going. So If you are a person who can't appreciate the idea of a warrior defending his family and home then you may never get this type of art but if you do then you will enjoy many of my works.

The next sculpture was one that was inspired by the thought of my fellow Marines. After I watched the movie aliens and I got a glimpse of the Space Marines, I had to make my version of them. This sculpture captures all of the bravado and toughness of the Marines. I imagined a warrior that had enough weapons to be his own field support. He has shoulder mounted howitzers, two arm mounted machine guns, also on his leg is a rocket system to give him a real powerful punch on the battlefield.



These are just a few of my many creations. I am constantly in the laboratory creating new sculptures and pushing the envelope.

What's wrong with the Miami Heat?

The Heat played a Memphis Grizzly team that was on a multiple game loosing streak and because of their missing captains and their lack of defense they were beaten by a a sub-par Griz team.
The problem really started when Zach Randolph came into the game and went to work on the Heat's terrible interior defense. He scored basket after basket on Juwan Howard, Chris Bosh, and Z. Ilgauskas. The worst part was that he did most of his damage in the second half after sitting out for the first half.
Memphis coach Lionel Hollins benched starters Zach Randolph, and O.J. Mayo for a quarter as punishment for being a couple minutes late to the pregame shoot-around.
When they got into the game they both went to work. The end result was another Heat loss!




This is a microcosm of the problems the Heat are having this year. The questions are already starting in the media and with the fans, We were all thinking that the Heat would be the best team in the NBA this year, but now we know that they will be lucky to win 55 games. I know that a new team takes time to develop but this team isn't doing the little things like rebounding, boxing out, and hustling that are the staples of all great teams.
With the injury to D-Wade and Udonis Haslem the Heat need to find the game tape and get back to the basics. Maybe it's time for Pat Riley to take control and get this team on track.

Kids playing

Have you ever noticed how kids act when they play? It's like nothing else in the world matters. They don't care about money, food, bills, parents, or anything else that doesn't involve having more fun. I took the time to watch a few kids at my home and it's amazing how they block everything out and just have loads of fun.
I was observing my son the other day and he plays with wire (just like his dad) but his style of play is all in his imagination. Why is it that we as adults can't have fun like our kids? I wonder.
Just try to take the time this week and play with your kids or if you don't have any play with a niece or nephew. Forget about all of the bills and problems and just have fun!

The bigest Football Game this year

This is it Florida vs Alabama in the SEC Championship game. In this game we have two top ranked teams playing for all of the respect and accolades Nick Saban vs Urban Meyer two great coaches.









It is the first time ever 1 & 2 have played for a conference championship game.








At the start of the game Alabama got the coin toss and the coach decided the receive the ball. Greg Mcelroy has the ball first and Alabama is moving the chains. The 6"3 218 Lb Junior is moving the team down the field in a methodical fashion. well that was until the drive stalled and Alabama's kicker Leigh Tiffin kicked a 48 yrd field goal to get on the board with 3 pts. Now it's time for Florida to try to come back.
Florida's drive stalled and now Alabama has the ball again and they are driving.
It's 2nd and 15 for the Tide and they are on the verge of scoring. Wow, Florida just received a penalty and it's now 1st and goal for the Tide.Ingram just went up the middle for a touchdown the score may be 9-0 in favor of Alabama.





This doesn't bode well for Florida.

After the score Florida gets the ball back down by 9 points. This is uncharted territory for Florida because they are usually the ones who are ahead.
Tim Tebow is trying to rally the troops to get this game back under control.
It's amazing watching Tim Tebow at this level. This guy is a phenomenal athlete. As the plays develop you can see Tim keeping the Defence off balance.
You can see the tenacity of the Alabama defence they are keeping the Florida attack under wraps. there are 47 seconds left in the 1st quarter and The Alabama defence is still attacking. Kaleb Stergis kicked a field goal attempt from 48 yrds, the game is now 9-3 Alabama. We have a game on our hands ladies and gentlemen.
After the field goal Florida kicked off and now Alabama is driving.
Great hit By hicks! He stopped a 1st down by Alabama now they will have to punt.
The Tide punts and James receives for Florida if it wasn't for the kicker the Gators would have 7 pts. It is back in the hands of Tim Tebow and the Florida Offence. 2nd and 10 Florida runs the option, but there is a flag.....holding on the offence 10 yrd penalty. This is going to be a very hard fight for Florida to get back in this game.
This game is looking like it's fated for Fla not to win. 3 rd and 14 and Tebow has allot of time but there is no one open.
The Gators punt (54 yrds) to put the Tide back in their territory.
The tide is driving , great run by Trent Richardson . This guy is breaking tackles and running hard.



It's only the first half and Florida is in trouble. You can tell that Florida isn't playing well at this point. If they can't gain control Alabama will win this game.

Third and 5 for the Tide lets see what they do, Oh my goodness the QB just got the first down by tip toeing the line . What a play! It's 3rd and 20 for the Crimson Tide and they couldn't get the first now they are going to try a 34 yrd kick, and it's good 12- 3 Alabama.

This is a key point in the game for Florida, down 12-3 Florida has another opportunity to get into the end zone. Florida only has 5 rushing attempts in this game so they are defiantly at a disadvantage.
Tebow is back in the pocket and he's got the ball, 22 yrd gain nice. it looks like Super man is taking control.
Touchdown Gators Tebow to David Nelson 12-10 Alabama.


Florida has just kicked off to The Crimson Tide and the return is 20 yrds. Ingram just received a pass and he took it 69 yrds to the 10 yrd line. Now Alabama is threatening to score. 1st and 3 .....Touchdown Alabama.
The score is now 19 - 10 Alabama with 3:32 left.
Oh yeah great catch by Cooper for a 60 yrd pass play 1st and 10 at the 20.
The drive has stalled and Florida has to settle for a field goal.The score is now 19-13 Alabama.
Half time

Ok Florida gets the ball and they show a great pic of Tebow praying on the side line.
Florida has fought their way back into this game and you can see it in the way they are playing. The drive stalls and the Gators have to kick.
Alabama has the ball and they are giving it to ingram. This RB is a great ball Carrier. After three straight rushes The Crimson Tide gets a huge play to maze down the field.
The next play was a busted screen with a 15 yrd penalty for roughing the passer. This looks like it's setting up Alabama for something.
The very next play is a touchdown to Peek from Greg Mcelroy Alabama 26 -13.
Tebow is back on the field with the largest deficit of the year.
Florida is slowly going down the field and it is tough going. Third and long and Florida doesn't convert, now Florida has to punt to Alabama and the Crimson Tide Offense.
Florida makes a mistake on third and 10 and Alabama coverts the first down. Alabama is holding onto 3rd and 7 and they find the receiver for a first down at he 40 yrd line. And you can see Alabama continuing to move the ball by picking up key 3rd downs with Ingram running. Alabama just picked up a penalty and it's 3rd and 2 with Ingram running like a man possessed. This guy is really running the ball and breaking tackles.



Wow Mcelroy just made a huge play by eluding tackles and getting down to the goal line. 3rd and inches for the Tide. The play is a first down at the goal line...Touchdown Alabama this game looks like it has gotten out of hand for Florida down by three touchdowns. The score is 32 -13 Alabama.
Tebow is moving the Gators down the field with only 12 minutes left in the game. The look that the Fla Fans have is one of shock. Sack by Alabama and they ruled it a fumble on the field. The booth will review it.






Huge over turn the ruling on the field is an incomplete pass Florida keeps the ball.
Tim Tebow is trying to keep the Gators in the game with his passing. Interception of Tebow in the end zone this may be the end Florida needed three touch downs to win and this makes it darn near impossible.
Ingram is now over 100 yrds on the next play we can expect Alabama to run the ball every time to eat up the clock. Ok now Alabama is punting and Florida gets another shot at it.
Now the Defence for Alabama is just dropping 6 DB's back into coverage making it hard to pass. Ohhhh 30 yrd pass play to Hernandes from Tim Tebow.
Florida just recieved a penalty for illegal formation and now it's fourth and short at the Alabama 13 yrd line. Incomplete pass, so Florida turns over on downs. This game is over now. All that's needed is the final clock.
Well that's it after a few knees the Crimson Tide ends the game and the part that bugs me is Super man (Tim Tebow) looked real average and I don't think that will help him in his quest to get to the NFL. What a year Bobby Bowden is forced out of Fla State and now Fla looses the sec championship game.
Wow.

Monday night football Pats and Saints

As I sit here watching the football game I am surprised at the way the game has begun. Both teams have scored on their opening drives. The Saints were touched by the angels on a short field goal that bounced off the upright. Immediately after that drive the Pats came back with a long drive for a touchdown. Laurence Maroney ran the ball like he was on a mission and that drive ended with him in the end zone!

After an unsuccessful drive the Saints kicked it off to the Pats and Wes Welker took the ball and ran like the old commercial that depicted OJ Simpson back in the 80's. He ended up at the 50. The Saints Defence just picked off the ball at mid field. running through the airport.
This is going to be a great game.
Remember how I said that Laurence was running? Well Pierre Thomas has his mind set on punishing the Patriots! This guy is running hard as well. At this time the score is 7 to 3 Pats.
4th and 1 at the 20 for the Saints and they go for it. And they got it! This game is being fought real hard on both sides.
At the 20, screen pass by Drew Brees to Thomas and he gets in the end zone Touch Down!!!!!! 10-7 Saints. This is going to be a very entertaining football game, Both Coaches have gone for it on 4th and short successfully and both teams have found the end zone. One thing that is obvious these teams are at a different level than most of the teams in the NFL. There haven't been any penalties to this point.
Touch down Saints! Devery Henderson just got behind the DB's and the Safety and completed a 70 yard touchdown pass.
OMG LAurence Marony just trucked a linebacker for a 10 yrd run.
Just like clock work Tom Bradey is moving the Pats down the field, this guy is really good. Wow we just received our first penalty flag in the game at the 6:16 mark in the second quarter.





Field goal by the Pats gives us a score of 17-10 Saints in the lead with the ball. They have 4 minutes left in the 1st half and Drew Brees gets an opportunity to get some more points on the board.
Touchdown Drew Brees to Robert Meachem on a 35 yrd pass play. There is 1:50 in the 1st half and the Saints lead the Pats 24 -10 Bradey has the ball working the two minute drill. So far the Pats haven't been able to do anything in the two minute drill there are 23 seconds left and still no score, they lined up for a long field goal with no success. the 1st half looks like it will end with the Saints up 24-10.




Ok the second half has started and it looks like the Saints broke out a fresh can of Whoop -- out on the Pats. Just to state what the second half was like in my best description, Beat down! The Pats couldn't stop the Saints offence, Drew Brees ended the game with a perfect passing rating of 158.3 he completed 18 out of 23 passes for 371 yards. The final score was 38-17 Saints and Coach Bill will probably go home and kick his dog at the performance of his team.
In conclusion we have seen the Saints up against the last team that went 11-0 and they performed admirably in a dominating show of passing/ running/ and catching efficiency.
I wonder how far they will go? All we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride.

Tiger Woods Car accident

On Friday around 2:25 am Tiger Woods was in a 1 car accident in his driveway. At first this was just a small story until the media got ahold of it and then the frenzy ensued.
The Back window was shattered and the story is that his wife pulled him out of the car and was taking care of him when the paramedics showed up. This story has grown legs and it's running like Jessie Owens in the Olympics.
Tiger tried to depart his home in a gated community outside of Orlando and managed an almost impossible driving trajectory – a 120-degree turn – and wound up hitting a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree.
Of course Tiger is fine but the media has questions and they are demanding answers. The police department has gone to Tigers community to ask him a few questions to no avail, they can't get any information from him. Come on now, you know that Tiger's rep was at his side shortly after this thing came to light and he was informed that all he should do is give a statement and leave it at that. Well Tiger gave his statement:
“The only person responsible for the accident is me,” the statement read. “My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble.
“This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.”
The rumors of an extra marital affair starting this whole drama are being cycled throughout the sports world and on the Internet. I don't know the truth to the allegations but it is a little fishy that the story broke the day before the accident and he had the car trouble the following morning.
As more and more reports come to light about that night more and more questions are being asked. There was no blood found on the steering wheel of the car and that in itself has cast some doubt on the story.
I personally Love the fact that Tiger is the best golfer in our era It gives my son a role model to strive for. Because of Tigers achievements every child of every color can dream to be the best in their field and that part is wonderful. The down side of the fame is that everything that happens in your life becomes part of the spectacle and could potentially be blown out of proportion.
I hope this thing passes for Tiger and his life will move on from this point. What do you think?
