Important things in the world: Game of Throwns Season 5...They killed John Snow !

The Season finale of Game of Thrones was simply shocking! They decided that they would kill off a number of characters....Shocker! One of the characters they decided to get rid of was John snow. This was surprising because I thought that John was still a big part of the story going forward. Killing him off at this early time seemed premature.

John was finally in charge of the Watch and it seemed like he was going to spearhead the defense against the White Walkers. I would say that his decision to put Bowen Marsh as his second in command was a disaster. You never want your enemy at your back and in this case he put his most powerful rival in the watch behind him. I thought that he was going to send him away and to my surprise he elevated Bowen to second in command. This decision led to his death.

The part that really surprises me is that the men of the Watch never take into consideration that they will need the Free folk. With the huge number of white walkers that are coming their way they will need every man woman and child to defend the realm.

Led by Tormund the Free folk could turn the tides in a fight but now that John snow is gone I fully expect the Nights Watch to turn on them and try to destroy the Free folk. This will of course be a disaster because the Free Folk out number the Nights Watch by 50 -1 so any fight they start will be short and bloody.

Another surprising twist was when Arya stark decided to get revenge for the death of her friend. She kills Meryn Trant and she then returns to the House of white to return her disguise.
she is caught and as a punishment she is left blind. This series of events was also very surprising because I didn't know what to expect.
They are killing off characters like people change underwear..

Daenerys Targaryen looked like she was about to die in the next to last episode when she was surrounded by the Masters and she only had a few Unsullied warriors with her.

That was one of the most exciting scenes in the next to last episode in Season 5. I was at the edge of my seat. When all was lost one of the dragons came flying in to save the day. I watched in amazement as the Dragon killed many of the Masters who where trying to kill Daenerys. It seemed at first like they would prevail but then spear after spear found the dragon and we all saw the tide turn.
Daenerys realized that the dragon would die if he stayed in the arena so she jumped on his back to be flown to safety.

That is where the Finale picks up. Daenerys was on top of a mountain in a strange land and the dragon was licking his wounds and resting. She decided to explore here surroundings when she is found by what looks like thousands of Dothraki who surround her in a swarm. I don't know where they are taking this but it looks like Daenerys will unite the Dothraki with her Unsullied warriors and freed slaves to make an unstoppable army.

They will all need to unite if they want to defeat the White Walkers. This is and enemy who will not stop until the entire world is at their feet. How do you defeat an army that gets stronger when you loose people? The don't need to eat or sleep and they don't care about getting hurt. That is a very scary situation. It's like trying to fight an army of suicide bombers on crack.

there were a few more story lines that were interesting.
Cersei Lanister had to go through a walk of Shame for her sins. this was very surprising and graphic. She had to walk through the kingdom naked and bare foot all the way back to the castle. During this walk you saw her change. She faced all of the people as they threw things, spit on her, called her names, and performed many horrible displays of vulgarity towards her but she persevered.
I think her character is misguided and bad in most cases but I had to tip my hat to her for not giving up. when she made it back to the castle she collapsed in the castle as the weight of her experience bore down on her. That's when we saw the Mountain.

We last saw the mountain on the table getting his blood drained and put back into his body with a foreign substance.
I look forward to seeing what he will do now that he is almost a superman.

The most memorable image we had of the mountain was when he was crushing a guys skull with his bare hands. To say the least he wasn't a very nice person to begin with
I Think now he is even more fearsome than he was before.

If you are a fan then you can't wait for the next season. I think they will continue to make the show surprising and very brutal.
